Ben Affleck talks about the origin of InterPositive, the film-AI company he founded in 2022. Ultimately Netflix bought that company in March-2026 for $587 mn in cash.

Ben Affleck walked into OpenAI, saw early text-to-image, and called Matt Damon to say they needed to shoot as many movies as possible in the next few years because they were finished.

The panic lasted until he looked again and saw the researchers were brilliant at the model and almost blank on how a shot is captured, lit, and cut. That gap is what he later built a company on.
